Why The One You Fancy Never Fancies You

Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired. That’s why we are so willing, so often, to throw ourselves at it so completely. And that’s why it goes so horribly wrong so horribly often. Richard’s talk reveals the science of Murphy’s Laws of love, explaining the tricks our desperate minds pull when trying to cope with loeurve, from the first stumbling steps to the throes of full-blown obsession, when common sense flies out of the window.

The talk focuses on the science of love, pointing out that sex is pretty well an inevitable event for all of us, and that the brain is built to make it so, deploying a cunning array of hormones to bring it on. Perhaps if we understand the processes involved in our passions, we can at least give ourselves something of a hand rail to cling to on the emotional roller-coaster of love.
